People keep asking us jam ladies "why are you tan yet look so tired? why haven't you been at this or that party? why only the scant tweets about pop tarts? why are your arms covered in berry stains and burns?" Answer: it's summertime. Fresh fruit cascades all around us and we're neck deep in jam. The kitchen hums with electricity as we dance around huge cauldrons of steaming berries, sanitize lids, label jars and sell the jams and their bff pop tarts at our weekend markets.

We love summertime! But we might not see you for awhile, or answer all your phone calls, or be able to stay awake past 9pm.
