Local Fruit Farms

Our favorite organic/low-spray, pick-your-own fruit farms in the Hudson Valley region of New York.

Beautiful, organic strawberries and raspberries.
//Ancram, NY
Vegetables, fruits and flowers. Pick-your-own and farmstand. They also have a stand at Brooklyn's McCarren Park Farmer’s Market.
//North Fork, Long Island
Apples, peaches, cherries!
//Hopewell Junction, NY
Raspberries and tomatoes.
//Franklin, NY
Cherries (sweet, sour or black), peaches and apples; plus a beautiful spot overlooking the Hudson River.
// Hudson, NY

*growing organic fruit in the NE is very hard, and therefore there are very few farms that do it, hence the inclusion of low-spray. We like supporting our local small farms, and encouraging them to keep growing delicious and creative fruit.

Tart Cherries: July 1-July 25
Blueberries: July 15-August 25
Summer Raspberries: July 15-August 15
Apples: Mid-July-Late October
Fall Raspberries: Sept 3-Oct 31 (or hard freeze)

Strawberry Balsamic Jam
Strawberries, balsamic vinegar, sugar, lemon juice, all natural pectin
Long maceration process finished with a balsamic bite that brings out the sweetness in the fruit–-great with goat cheese!

3′s Company Triple Berry Jam
Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, lemon juice, sugar, all natural pectin

Easy, toast-perfect, with a great mix of sweet and tart. Perfect for those who love pure fruit flavor and an easy eating jam.

Easy Like Sunday Morning Blueberry Preserves
Wild blueberries, maple syrup, sugar, lemon juice, all natural pectin
Wild Maine blueberries meld with a rich B grade maple syrup from Lyonsville Sugarhouse in Accord, New York. Add this to your pancakes and swoon.

Hot Fireman’s Pear Jam with chipotle and cinnamon
Bartlett pears, cinnamon, chipotle, lemon juice, sugar, all natural pectin
Pears are given a smoky, spicy buzz with the addition of chipotle and cinnamon. This jam smells and looks like late autumn, when the golden earth-toned air is tinged with woodsmoke. Not too spicy, but with a little smoky kick at the end. We donate a portion of the proceeds to our local NYC Fire Department.

Grapefruit & Smoked Salt Marmalade
Grapefruit, smoked salt, sugar,
all natural pectin
Sweet, slightly bitter with a hit of smoky salt. Ruby red grapefruit juice and slivers of zest float in translucent golden jelly.

Spiced Beer Jelly
Local dark beer, local apples, grains of paradise, black cardamom, cinnamon, lemon juice, sugar,
all natural pectin
Spices and ale make this a unique and amazing jelly, perfect with cheese or meat.

New York Hot Pepper Jelly
Hot peppers, sweet peppers, vinegar, apple juice, lemon juice, sugar,
all natural pectin
Hot and sweet peppers from regional farms, balanced with vinegar and sugar. Delicious with cheese and crackers, or as a glaze on meat, tofu or fish.

Fig & Onion Jam
Sweet onions, figs, rosemary, balsamic vinegar, orange zest, spices

Anarchy-style: simple, balanced with kick-ass ingredients like  figs and local onions from our farmer friends at Greenmarket, finished with a hint of rosemary + orange zest. The perfect savory jam for cheese, charcuterie and sandwiches.

Beer Mustard
Brown and yellow mustard seeds, beer, malt vinegar, sugar, salt, spices

The perfect whole grain mustard. Barely ground, it pops in the mouth. We love it with ham sandwiches, fresh pretzels, and on strawberries (trust us).

Herb Mustard
Brown and yellow mustard seeds, malt vinegar, garlic, fresh tarragon, mustard powder, sugar, salt, spices
Herbaceous and whole grain. Lightly ground and a little spicy. We love it with turkey sandwiches, as a marinade on roast chicken, and stirred into salad dressings.

Umami Shiso Fine Mustard
Brown and yellow mustard seeds, rice vinegar, green tea, garlic, fresh shiso, organic ginger, mustard powder, brown sugar, salt, spices
Whoa, this mustard is crazy awesome. You’ve never had anything like it — say the name out loud with a little attitude and it’s even better. Flavors of umami from the green tea and fish sauce, plus shiso leaf for crazy mouth magic. We love it with sandwiches, as a marinade on pork, stirred into salad dressings and on a cheese plate.

Seasonal flavors change often, so stay tuned…
